Steffen Erich Pahlow, the author...
...studied this handicraft, was trained by case-makers, who worked in
earlier time in Glashütte / Saxonia, Germany. Accordingly, he made
his pocket-watch-cases in classic style from diffrent
materials as gold, silver or acrylic.

The book describes the one-off productions in text, photos, drawings, detailed cross sections (altogether 151 drawings, pics etc.) as pocket-watch-cases were manufactured, and how he continue practicing this extinct handicraft.
